On December 2, 2025, ad hoc experts from the International Coordinating Committee for the Safeguarding and Development of the Historic Sites of Angkor and Sambor Prei Kuk (ICC-Angkor/Sambor Prei Kuk), together with specialists from the APSARA National Authority, continued their inspection of ongoing restoration works at several key heritage sites. The mission included visits to the Bakong Causeway Restoration Project and the Banteay Samre Temple Restoration Project.
During each visit, the restoration teams presented progress updates and technical details, while the experts provided further recommendations aimed at strengthening conservation efforts and ensuring alignment with international standards.
It should be noted that the ICC-Angkor/Sambor Prei Kuk ad hoc experts began their mission on December 1, undertaking a week-long inspection of priority sites across the Angkor area. The visit, which runs through December 9, focuses on reviewing restoration activities in accordance with the committee’s previous recommendations and ensuring the continued safeguarding of Cambodia’s cultural heritage.
