អាជ្ញាធរជាតិអប្សរា បានរៀបចំការបោះឆ្នោត ដើម្បីជ្រើសរើសប្រធានគណៈកម្មការសហគមន៍កសិករប្រើប្រាស់ទឹកប្រព័ន្ធស្រោចស្រពបារាយណ៍ខាងលិច អាណត្តិទីបី ដោយមានការចូលរួមពីសាលាក្រុងសៀមរាប និងសាលាស្រុកពួក នៅថ្ងៃទី១២ ខែកុម្ភៈ ឆ្នាំ២០២៦។
ការបោះឆ្នោតជ្រើសរើសប្រធានគណៈកម្មការសហគមន៍កសិករប្រើប្រាស់ទឹកប្រព័ន្ធស្រោចស្រពបារាយណ៍ខាងលិចនេះ គឺមានប្រជាពលរដ្ឋចំនួន៦៥ភូមិ មកពីឃុំ-សង្កាត់ចំនួន៩ នៅក្នុងក្រុងសៀមរាបនិងស្រុកពួកចូលរួម។

The APSARA National Authority, in collaboration with Siem Reap City Hall and Puok District Hall, organized the third mandate election of the West Baray Irrigation Community Committee on February 12, 2026.
The election to select the chairman of the West Baray Irrigation Community Committee was attended by 65 villagers representing nine communes in Siem Reap City and Puok District.
Mr. Lai Poti, Deputy Director of the Department of Water, Forestry and Infrastructure Management of the APSARA National Authority, stated that for more than 12 years, 65 villages in Siem Reap City and Puok District have relied on water from the West Baray to irrigate their crops.
He explained that the purpose of this election is to choose the chairman, vice chairman, treasurer, and committee members to ensure proper and effective water management and distribution for farmers.
“The proper and efficient management of water use is crucial for farmers living downstream. If water is not properly managed and distributed, many farmers’ fields may suffer crop losses,” he emphasized.
Currently, the West Baray—managed by the APSARA National Authority—has a storage capacity of more than 56 million cubic meters of water. Part of this supply is provided to the Siem Reap Water Supply Authority, while the remainder supports irrigation for over 7,000 hectares of farmland and dry-season rice fields.
However, due to a recent increase of more than 9,000 hectares of rice fields and plantations, the APSARA National Authority has intensified its efforts to manage and distribute water efficiently to meet growing demand.
Since assuming responsibility for managing the West Baray in 2014, the APSARA National Authority has organized committee elections every three years. However, the election process was postponed during the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in the third mandate election being delayed until 2026.
