បទពិសោធន៍ថ្មីលើដងស្ពាន ដែលមានទំហំធំទូលាយជាងមុន សុវត្ថិភាពជាងមុន គឺស្ពានឈើថ្មីដែលមានប្រវែងសរុបដល់ទៅ១៨៩ម៉ែត្រនេះ មិនត្រឹមតែជាច្រកសម្រាប់ដើរទស្សនាប៉ុណ្ណោះទេ ប៉ុន្តែគឺជា«មគ្គុទ្ទេសក៍ឈើ» ដែលនឹងនាំលោកអ្នកលម្ហែកាយចេញពីទិសខាងត្បូង ឆ្ពោះទៅកាន់បេះដូងនៃប្រាសាទ។ ជាមួយនិងការរចនាបង្គុំតាមបទដ្ឋានបច្ចេកទេសយ៉ាងសម្រិតសម្រាំង ស្ពាននេះត្រូវបានពង្រីកទទឹងឱ្យកាន់តែធំទូលាយ (ចាប់ពី ១.៣០ម៉ែត្រ ដល់១.៧០ម៉ែត្រ) ដែលផ្ដល់ភាពងាយស្រួលក្នុងការដើរទស្សនា និងថតរូបកម្សាន្តដោយមិនមានភាពរអាក់រអួល។ នេះ គឺជាការលះបង់ដើម្បីកេរដំណែលដូនតា ក្រោមការលះបង់កម្លាំងកាយចិត្តអស់រយៈពេលជិត៧ខែ ។

The image of an ancient temple embraced by towering trees and untouched wilderness makes Beng Mealea Temple one of the most mysterious and captivating destinations in Cambodia. Today, this “forest temple” has become even more attractive as the APSARA National Authority has completed the renovation of a new wooden bridge, just in time to welcome national and international tourists during the upcoming Khmer New Year.
The newly constructed wooden bridge, stretching 189 meters, offers more than just a walkway—it provides a unique journey into the heart of the temple. Extending from the southern entrance toward the central ruins, the bridge acts as a gentle guide, leading visitors through the site while preserving its fragile structure. Built with careful attention to technical standards, the bridge has been widened from 1.30 meters to 1.70 meters, ensuring smoother movement and allowing visitors to pause for photos without obstruction.
After nearly seven months of dedicated work, Mr. Puth Soth, the project manager, confirmed that the new structure replaces the old bridge, which had deteriorated due to age and exposure to harsh weather conditions. Completed in early April 2026, the renovation ensures a higher level of safety and comfort for all visitors.
What makes this project particularly remarkable is its sensitivity to the natural and historical environment. Beng Mealea is widely known for its untouched charm—massive stone blocks scattered across the site, intricate carvings partially hidden beneath moss, and giant tree roots weaving through ancient walls. The new wooden bridge has been thoughtfully designed to harmonize with this landscape, allowing visitors to enjoy elevated views of the ruins without disturbing them.
From the bridge, visitors can admire the temple’s artistic details from new angles, while also appreciating the raw beauty of nature reclaiming history. Walking along the shaded pathway beneath tall teak trees creates a refreshing and almost dreamlike experience, as if stepping back into an ancient world long forgotten.
In addition to the bridge itself, new stairs and connecting walkways have been installed, improving accessibility and making exploration of the temple more convenient and enjoyable. These enhancements not only protect the site but also enrich the overall visitor experience.
As Cambodia prepares to celebrate Khmer New Year, Beng Mealea Temple stands ready to welcome travelers with renewed beauty and improved infrastructure.
