ក្រុមអ្នកជំនាញនៃអាជ្ញាធរជាតិអប្សរា បានចាប់ផ្តើមជួសជុលខ្លោងទ្វារតាកាវ ភាគខាងលិចនៃក្រុងអង្គរធំនេះ តាំងតែពីចុងខែកុម្ភ: ឆ្នាំ២០២១ ហើយរហូតមកដល់អំឡុងខែតុលា ឆ្នាំ២០២២នេះ គឺបានសម្រេចប្រមាណ៩៧ភាគរយហើយ ដោយនៅសេសសល់តែការកែសម្រួលថ្មភក់ថ្មី ដែលបានជំនួសថ្មចាស់ដែលបាត់បង់ឬខូចគុណភាព។ បច្ចុប្បន្នក្រុមការងារកំពុងមមាញឹកក្នុងការរុះរើរន្ទារចេញជាបណ្តើរៗ ហើយនឹងបញ្ចប់នាពេលឆាប់ៗខាងមុខ។
ខ្លោងទ្វារតាកាវ គឺជាខ្លោងទ្វារមួយក្នុងចំណោមខ្លោងទ្វារចេញចូលទាំង៥ នៃក្រុងអង្គរធំ ដែលស្ថិតនៅទិសខាងលិច នៃប្រាសាទបាយ័ន។ ក្រោយពីបញ្ចប់ការជួសជុលទាំងស្រុង ខ្លោងទ្វារនេះ នឹងបង្កើនភាពទាក់ទាញភ្ញៀវទេសចរជាតិ និងអន្តរជាតិឱ្យទៅទស្សនា និងផ្តិតយករូបភាពមួយផ្នែកទៀតនៃទិសដៅទេសចរណ៍ថ្មី ៕

Angkor Thom’s Takav Gate had been in a state of disrepair due to age, climate, war, lack of care, and the four elephant sculptures at the corners, which were severely damaged by trees and roots growing into the structure. A large part of the gate, especially the top of the gate, which had four Brahma faces, as well as the adjoining structures of the stone gates, had slipped out of its original position, with some of the stones falling down, requiring temporary support and having used the cable for more than 10 years. There is still a high risk due to the decay of the tree, the loose cable, and the roots of the trees. Now the gate returned to their original beauty, integrity, and aesthetics after nearly two years of restoration.
At present, the entire Takav Gate has been saved from various risks by the restoration team of APSARA National Authority under the support of the private sector through Lok Chumteav Seang Chanheng (President of Heng Development Company) to enhance the value of this gate to stand strong as a gate to protect Angkor Thom. The four Brahma face sculptures of the gate have been restored to their original shapes, such as the lips, the nose, the ears, the cheeks, and other parts have been restored to their original position. The smile came back to life, and the elephants on all four sides reappeared, seemingly helping to stabilize the entire gate structure.
The restoration team of the APSARA National Authority has started restoring Angkor Thom’s Takav Gate since the end of February 2021, so far, about 97% of the restoration completed, with only new sandstone modification that replaces old stone that is lost or damaged. Currently, the team is removing the scaffolding, and it will be completed soon.
The Takav Gate is one of the five gates of Angkor Thom, located to the west of Bayon Temple. After the completion of the renovation, the gate will increase the attractiveness of the tourists to visit and take pictures and become the new tourist destination.
