On 5 August 2026, the APSARA National Authority convened the annual Steering Committee Meeting for the Angkor Water Resilience (AWR) Project to review and evaluate the project’s progress. The initiative is implemented in partnership with New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT).
The meeting was co-chaired by H.E. Dr. Hang Peou, Director General of the APSARA National Authority, and Ms. Dara Avram, First Secretary and Head of Development Cooperation at the New Zealand Embassy.
Following the meeting, members of the Steering Committee conducted field visits to several AWR project sites, including the exhibition hall at the Hospitality and Interpretation Center, the implementation of the master plan at the Northern Angkor Wat Pagoda, irrigation infrastructure restoration works, tree planting activities along the dam and canal system, and model farms established under the project in Leang Dai Commune.
