លោក គង់ សុវណ្ណារិទ្ធ មន្រ្តីបច្ចេកទេសគ្រប់គ្រងការកាត់ដើមឈើ នៃនាយកដ្ឋានគ្រប់គ្រងទឹក ព្រៃឈើ និងហេដ្ឋារចនាសម្ព័ន្ធ បានឱ្យដឹងថា ដើមឈើយាងដែលមានទីតាំងស្ថិតនៅខាងត្បូងប្រាសាទបាពួន មានអាយុប្រហាក់ប្រហែលពី៧០ទៅ៨០ឆ្នាំ និងមានកម្ពស់ប្រហែល៤០ម៉ែត្រ។ លោកពន្យល់ថា ដើមយាងនេះមានសភាពស្អុយគល់ និងដើម ដែលតម្រូវឱ្យកាត់នៅផ្នែកខាងចុងចេញ ដើម្បីសម្រាលតួដើម និងដើម្បីឱ្យវាមានលូតលាស់ មានជីវិតបន្តទៀត។

The APSARA National Authority’s Forestry Management Team has carried out pruning work on a risk yeang tree located south of Baphuon Temple.
According to Mr. Kong Sovannarith, Technical Officer of the Department of Water, Forestry and Infrastructure Management, the tree—estimated to be around 70 to 80 years old and approximately 40 meters tall—was found to have rotten roots and trunk sections. Pruning the upper branches helps relieve the weight on the trunk, allowing the tree to recover and continue growing safely.
Mr. Sovannarith explained that due to this year’s heavy rainfall, many trees—both large and small—have fallen across the Angkor site. As yeang trees age, their growth slows, and their inner branches begin to decay, making them prone to breaking even without strong winds or rain.
He added that the Forestry Management Team remains on standby day and night to remove fallen trees and cut down any that pose a danger to visitors, roads, or temple structures.
Forestry experts also urge residents and tourists visiting Angkor during the rainy season not to park vehicles under large trees, as they may unexpectedly break or fall, posing serious safety risks.
