The working team of the Department of Conservation of Monuments and Preventive Archaeology of the APSARA National Authority is preparing to register 1656 scattered stones at the outer walls of Angkor Wat to know more about their location as roof stones or tower stones.
Archaeologist of the APSARA National Authority, An Sopheap, said that some of the stones may have been the structure of the three towers of the western gate of Angkor Wat. Some may be the top part due to the round shape, in addition, some other pieces may be the roof of the gallery, as well as pieces of sculptures such as lions, feet, legs, etc. that the French restoration team used to collect to keep here. The working team used a drone to take the photos, started to register the stones for the location ID, and documented the condition of the stones.

However, the movement of the stones was somewhat complicated because they were from many locations.
