APSARA National Authority to complete the restoration of the heads of Deva and Asura at the Takav Gate soon

The restoration team of APSARA National Authority plans to complete the restoration of the heads of the Deva and Asura at the Takav Gate within a month.

Ms. Meng Sovanlylin, Architect and Technical Team of Takav Gate restoration site, said that the team is working on restoring the head of the Deva and Asura, replacing some new sandstones, stone carving, and restoring the statue of Deva Commander before completing the restoration of the heads of statues of the Churning of the Sea of Milk, at Takav Gate of Angkor Thom.

It should be noted that 13 heads of the Deva and Asura were found during archaeological excavation, including six heads of the Deva (four of them were in good condition and two in half-shaped) and seven heads of Asura (six of them were in good condition and one half-shaped).

The Takao Gate restoration project is a project of the APSARA National Authority with financial support from the private sector.
