On the morning of June 13, 2025, representatives from the Japanese Tour Guide Association officially handed over 22 artifacts to the Preah Norodom Sihanouk-Angkor Museum. This collection includes 21 ceramic pieces and one metal artifact, all of which were acquired from residents of Tani Village in Sangkat Run Ta Aek, located within Run Ta Aek Techo Sen City, Siem Reap Province, approximately 30 years ago.
The decision to transfer these valuable items to the museum was made with the understanding that the institution plays a crucial role in the preservation and maintenance of archaeological artifacts. The artifacts will be technically preserved as national treasures and utilized for research purposes after being stored for three decades. The museum is committed to showcasing and safeguarding archaeological items obtained through excavations, research, and contributions from the public.
