On the morning of June 4, 2026, the APSARA National Authority, in collaboration with the Angkor Thom District Administration, organized a tree-planting program aimed at restoring forest cover within the Angkor area. The event was attended by Ms. Chhon Sokunthea, Deputy Governor of Angkor Thom District; Mr. Ley Kimsy, Deputy Director of the Public Order Department of the APSARA National Authority; working groups; monks; teachers; students; and local residents, totaling approximately 150 participants.
The tree-planting activity forms part of a broader campaign in Angkor Thom District, which plans to plant a total of 4,000 trees across various locations. During the June 4 event, participants planted 1,000 trees in Samrong Village, Leang Dai Commune, Angkor Thom District, Siem Reap Province.
