The Ad Hoc Experts of the International Coordinating Committee for the Safeguarding and Development of the Historic Sites of Angkor and Sambor Prei Kuk (ICC-Angkor/Sambor Prei Kuk) continued their inspections of major restoration works ahead of the official committee meeting scheduled for December 11–12, 2025.
On the morning of December 9, 2025—marking the final day of the mission—the international experts, together with the APSARA National Authority delegation led by H.E. Dr. Hang Peou, Director General of the APSARA National Authority, along with deputy director generals and technical colleagues, visited the restoration site of the West Mebon Temple. During the inspection, the restoration team delivered technical presentations to the experts and received a range of recommendations aimed at further improving ongoing conservation efforts.
The routine field visits conducted by the Ad Hoc Experts take place prior to every ICC-Angkor/Sambor Prei Kuk meeting, which is convened twice each year. It should be noted that the upcoming gathering will mark the 41st Technical Session and the 32nd Plenary Session of the Committee.
