The team of the Department of Conservation of Monuments and Preventive Archaeology of the APSARA National Authority is preparing to repair and strengthen the first terrace platform of the Bayon Temple in the southeast corner that has collapsed and is unstable.

Lim Hak, technical staff of the Department of Conservation of Monuments and Preventive Archaeology, said that the renovation of the 10-meter-long platform started at the end of November 2023. Parts of the platform have moved and collapsed, the sandstone floor has shifted from its original position.

The team will spend months repairing the first terrace platform of the Bayon Temple in the southeast corner to be strong and beautiful again, as well as to facilitate national and international tourists to visit easily and safely.
