បើទោះជាយ៉ាងណាអ្នកស្រុកអង្គរ និងនៅតាមបណ្ដាខេត្តខ្លះ នៅតែរក្សានិងប្រកាន់ខ្ជាប់ប្រពៃណីទំនៀមទម្លាប់នេះ ដើម្បីបន្តមត៌កវប្បធម៌របស់ដូនតាខ្មែរនៅឡើយ។
ជាក់ស្តែងកាលពីថ្ងៃទី១៦ ខែកុម្ភៈ គ្រួសារមួយមកពីខេត្តឧត្តរមានជ័យបាននាំបុត្រាបុត្រី មកធ្វើពិធីកោរជុកនៅប្រាសាទអង្គរវត្ត។ ពិធីកោរជុក ក៏ជាកិច្ចពិធីមួយដែលប្រជាពលរដ្ឋខ្មែរតែងធ្វើឡើង គឺដើម្បីបញ្ជាក់ពីដំណើរជិវិតរបស់មនុស្ស ដែលបានវិវត្តន៍ពីដំណាក់កាលមួយទៅកាន់ដំណាក់កាលថ្មីមួយទៀត។ ពោល គឺជាពិធីដែលបញ្ជាក់ពីដំណាក់កាលសំខាន់ៗនៃជីវិតមនុស្សម្នាក់ៗដែលត្រូវផ្លាស់ប្ដូរពីកុមារភាព ទៅជាមនុស្សពេញវ័យនិងមានការទទួលខុសត្រូវ។

The Kor Chuk ceremony is a significant cultural tradition among the Khmer people, marking the transition from childhood to adulthood. While this ancient practice has seen a decline in observance among modern families, it continues to thrive in certain regions, particularly in Angkor and some provinces, where communities strive to uphold their cultural heritage.
Celebrated on February 16, a recent instance of the Kor Chuk ceremony took place in Oddar Meanchey province, where a family brought their son to Angkor Wat for the ritual. This ceremony symbolizes pivotal moments in an individual’s life, emphasizing the shift from one stage to another, particularly from childhood to adulthood and the accompanying responsibilities.
Historically, the Kor Chuk ceremony was performed for boys and girls who had not yet reached puberty, signifying their entrance into adulthood. Often referred to as a coming-of-age ceremony, it serves to formally integrate children into their families and society according to traditional customs. The ceremony also delineates roles for boys and girls; boys are encouraged to pursue education and knowledge, while girls are taught family management skills.
