អង្គការមូលនិធិប្រាសាទពិភពលោក ឬ Wold Monuments Fund ហៅកាត់ថា WMF កំពុងបន្តកិច្ចសហការជាមួយអាជ្ញាធរជាតិអប្សរាដើម្បីជួសជុលជ្រុងខាងលិចប្រាសាទភ្នំបាខែង ដោយរំពឹងថានឹងបញ្ចប់គម្រោងទាំងស្រុងនៅក្នុងឆ្នាំ២០២៩។

តាមការបញ្ជាក់ពីអ្នកជំនាញ មកដល់បច្ចុប្បន្នគម្រោងជួសជុលប្រាសាទភ្នំបាខែងទាំងមូល សម្រេចបានប្រមាណ ៧៥ភាគរយហើយ ក្នុងនោះការងារជួសជុលនៅជ្រុងខាងលិច កំពុងដំណើរការជួសជុលបានប្រហែល ២៥ភាគរយ។
ចំពោះស្ថានភាពការខូចខាតនៅជ្រុងខាងលិច អ្នកជំនាញពន្យល់ថា មានការស្រុតគ្រឹះ ថ្មងាកចេញពីគ្នា និងមានការដួលរលុះថ្មនៅផ្នែកជញ្ជាំង និងចម្លាក់តោ។ ក្រៅពីជួសជុលពង្រឹងឡើងវិញ ក្រុមការងារក៏បានពង្រឹងថ្មភ្នំដែលខ្លះបានប្រេះ និងមានការពុកផុយ ដោយប្រើបច្ចេកទេសមួយចំនួនដើម្បីឱ្យវារឹងមាំឡើងវិញ។

The World Monuments Fund (WMF) is continuing its collaboration with the APSARA National Authority to restore the western section of Phnom Bakheng Temple, with the project expected to be completed in 2029.
Mr. Chiv Phirom, Head of the Technical Team for the Phnom Bakheng Temple Restoration Project, said the restoration of the western section began in 2026 and is scheduled to conclude in 2029. He explained that the team has already restored the flooring across all four levels of the temple, from level F (the first level) to level C (the fourth level).
This work represents the third phase of the Phnom Bakheng Temple Restoration Project, which WMF has been involved in since 2004. During the first phase, from 2004 to 2007, WMF conducted studies and a pilot restoration on the first level in the southwest section of the temple. The second phase, which began in 2008 and was completed in 2019, focused on restoring the central sections of the north and south stairways on the eastern side, along with archaeological excavations and conservation work. The third phase has been underway since August 2019 and will continue until 2029.
Experts estimate that approximately 75 percent of the overall restoration of Phnom Bakheng Temple has now been completed. Of this, restoration work on the western side accounts for about 25 percent.
Regarding the damage to the western section, experts explained that the temple has suffered from foundation collapse, displaced and tilted stones, and fallen masonry affecting the walls and lion sculptures. In addition to restoration work, the team has reinforced cracked and deteriorated mountain stones using various technical methods to enhance their structural stability.
Mr. Kong Savbut, Country Director of WMF, expressed pride on behalf of the U.S.-based international organization for its long-standing contributions to the conservation and restoration of temples in the Angkor complex. Since 1989, WMF has been involved in the preservation of Preah Khan Temple, Ta Som Temple, and Angkor Wat, and is currently focusing its efforts on Phnom Bakheng Temple.
He also expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts and to the Director General of the APSARA National Authority, H.E. Dr. Hang Peou, for providing a location at the foot of Bakheng Mountain for the construction of an information center. The center, which is currently under study and planned for construction in the near future, will present information and activities related to the Phnom Bakheng Temple Restoration Project, allowing the public and tourists to learn about and conduct research on the site.
