អ្នកជំនាញអភិរក្សថ្មរបស់នាយកដ្ឋានអភិរក្សប្រាសាទ និងបុរាណវិទ្យា នៃអាជ្ញាធរជាតិអប្សរា កំពុងជួសជុលរូបបដិមាមួយធ្វើពីថ្មភក់ ដែលស្ថិតនៅចំពីមុខបណ្ណាល័យខាងត្បូង នៃប្រាសាទភ្នំបាខែងឱ្យប្រសើរឡើងវិញ។

អ្នកជំនាញអភិរក្សថ្មនៅប្រាសាទភ្នំបាខែង លោក សយ សុភារិន្ទ បានឱ្យដឹងថា រូបបដិមានោះ បានបាក់បែកធ្ងន់ធ្ងរជាច្រើនកន្លែង តាំងពីព្រះកេស ដៃសងខាង ព្រមទាំងជើងខាងស្តាំ ក៏បាក់ពាក់កណ្ដាល ជាហេតុធ្វើឱ្យក្រុមអ្នកបច្ចេកទេសមិនអាចដឹងថា ជាបដិមាអ្វីច្បាស់លាស់ឡើយ។ ចំពោះពេលវេលា និងមូលហេតុដែលធ្វើឱ្យរូបបដិមានេះ បាក់ធ្លាក់យើងមិនទាន់ដឹងឱ្យប្រាកដ។ ក៏ប៉ុន្តែ ផ្អែកតាមស្លាកស្នាមស៊ីម៉ង់ត៍ដែលសេសសល់ យើងអាចដឹងថា កន្លងមក រូបបដិមានេះ ធ្លាប់មានការជួសជុលដោយសាលាបារាំងចុងបូព៌ាម្ដងមកហើយ។

បច្ចុប្បន្ននេះ ក្រុមអ្នកបច្ចេកទេសនៃអាជ្ញាធរជាតិអប្សរា កំពុងធ្វើការជួសជួសជាថ្មីម្ដងទៀតជាច្រើនកន្លែងដូចជា សិក្សាអំពីគ្រឹះ ពិនិត្យមើលជើងទម្ររបស់រូប។ ជួសជុលជើងទម្រនៅផ្នែកខាងស្តាំដែលប្រេះ ដោយស្វានដាក់ស្នូលដែកអ៉ីណុកដើម្បីតភ្ជាប់ប្រអប់ជើងឡើងវិញជាដើម។ ក្នុងការជួសជួលបដិមាថ្មភក់បុរាណមួយនេះ ក្រុមអ្នកបច្ចេកទេស ក៏នឹងត្រូវឆ្លាក់ថ្មថ្មីមកបំពេញជំនួសនៅតាមកន្លែងដែលបាត់៕

Stone conservation experts of the Department of Conservation of Monuments and Preventive Archaeology of the APSARA National Authority are restoring a sandstone statue in front of the southern library of Phnom Bakheng Temple.

Soy Sophearin, a stone conservation expert, said that the statue had been severely damaged, such as the head, arms, and right leg, making it impossible for the experts to identify the statue. As for the time and cause of the statue’s collapse, we do not know for sure. However, based on the remaining cement traces, we know that this statue was once restored by the EFEO in the past.

Currently, the experts of APSARA National Authority are restoring many parts, such as studying the foundation, checking the pedestal, and repairing the cracked foot on the right side with stainless steel to reconnect the foot. To restore this ancient sandstone statue, the experts also have to carve new stones to replace the missing ones.
