The restoration team of the Department of Conservation of Monuments and Preventive Archaeology is restoring the Prohm Kel temple, and the restoration work is now almost completed.

Mao Sokny, head of the Prohm Kel temple restoration site and architect of the Department of Conservation of Monuments and Preventive Archaeology, said that through the efforts of the restoration team, the process of restoring the Prohm Kel temple is now almost completed. To date, about 70 percent of the work has been completed and is scheduled to finish by the end of 2023, while repairs have begun in mid-2023.
He said that the Prohm Kel temple was severely damaged, some stones fell, and half part of the central tower collapsed. The repair process is divided into three stages, including repairing the platform, the walls, and the top of the temple. The restoration work of the platform and walls has been completed, only the top of the temple remains.

Mr. Mao Sokny further stated that the next work after restoring the tower of the Prohm Kel temple, and experts plan to organize at the entrance of the temple to be strong again.
