ជារៀងរាល់ឆ្នាំ ព្រឹត្តិការណ៍សមរាត្រី (Equinox) តែងតែកើតមាន២ដង គឺនៅរដូវប្រាំង (Vernal Equinox) កើតទ្បើងនៅខែមីនា និងសមរាត្រីរដូវវស្សា (Autumnal Equinox) កើតទ្បើងនៅខែកញ្ញា។ ចំពោះឆ្នាំ២០២៣នេះ ថ្ងៃរះលើកំពូលអង្គរវត្តចំថ្ងៃសមរាត្រីរដូវស្សានេះ នៅថ្ងៃទី២២ ខែកញ្ញា ដែលជាវេលាដែលថ្ងៃនិងយប់មានរយៈពេលស្ទើរតែស្មើគ្នាគិតនៅប្រទេសកម្ពុជាយើង។ ក្រៅពីនេះ ខែខ្លះថ្ងៃមានរយៈពេលវែងជាងយប់ ហើយខ្លះទៀត យប់មានរយៈពេលវែងជាងថ្ងៃវិញ។

Angkor Wat Autumnal Equinox 2023
Every year, the Equinox occurs twice, the Vernal Equinox in March and the Autumnal Equinox in September. For 2023, the sun rises on the top of Angkor Wat on the equinox of this rainy season on 22 September, which means that the duration of day and night was equal due to the position of the Earth in its orbit around the sun. In other months, some days are longer than nights and some nights are longer than days.
In special cases at Angkor Wat during this time of day and night, the sun rises at the top of Angkor Wat in the early morning, which we can see from the central gate (the main western gate).
This is the wonder of Angkor Wat, built with the meticulous study of Angkorian scholars, combining theories of mathematics, engineering, architecture, and astronomy. That is a scientific reason that answers the endless question of why Angkor Wat faces west.
