APSARA National Authority planting more grass in front of the south corner of Angkor Wat

To contribute to the improvement of public order, beautification, environment, and beautiful green scenery in all seasons at Angkor site as a World Heritage Site and to attract more tourists to visit, the APSARA National Authority is working hard to plant more grass in front of Angkor Wat (former Heritage Police Unit).

Ms. Ang Sochenda, an official of the Department of Water, Forestry and Infrastructure Management of the APSARA Authority, said that in front of the south corner of Angkor Wat, the working team is planting grass, trees, and wildflowers in the area of 24,000 square meters. So far, about 30 percent of the work has been completed. This project starts at the beginning of July, it is planned to take four months to complete.
She added that after the work of planting grass in this area is complete, this place will be full of beautiful grass, and tourists can come to take pictures, to avoid congestion, especially since this location can organize various celebrations instead of the location directly in front of Angkor Wat.

It should be noted that the grass fields around Angkor Wat or outside the temple must be regularly maintained by APSARA National Authority, watering and cleaning regularly to make the Angkor site green in both dry and rainy seasons.
