On March 5, 2026, the APSARA National Authority, in collaboration with Kanazawa University of Japan, organized a seminar on the Influence of Pollutants on Human and Animal Health.
The seminar aimed to share knowledge from the research conducted by the research team, including Professor Yoichiro Kitani, an expert at the laboratory, and Professor Toshio Sekiguchi from the Department of Environmental Studies at Kanazawa University. The presentation focused on various types of toxic substances originating from ships, including smoke emissions released into the air, oil spills, and waste discharged into water sources. These pollutants can lead to environmental problems such as acidification and the spread of toxic substances that may cause serious health issues, including cancer.
The research findings provide valuable knowledge for officials and staff of the APSARA National Authority, especially as APSARA continues to pay close attention to environmental pollution and its potential impacts on both humans and animals.
