On the morning of October 30, 2025, in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, H.E. Dr. PHOEURNG Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts, led the Cambodian delegation to attend the official opening ceremony of UNESCO’s 43rd Session of the General Conference.
The ceremony was presided over by H.E. Simona-Mirela Misculescu, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Romania to UNESCO, President of the 42nd Session of the General Conference; H.E. Khondker M. Talha, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to UNESCO, President of the 43rd Session; and H.E. Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO.
The 43rd Session of the General Conference gathers delegates from 194 Member States and takes place from October 30 to November 13, 2025.
