Every year, to help maintain and preserve the Angkor temples, the APSARA National Authority plants tens of thousands of trees across the Angkor site. Maintaining good forest cover plays an important role in attracting rainfall, reducing heat, and sustaining the natural environment around the temples.

H.E. Dr. PHOEURNG Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts, will lead the Cambodian delegation to attend the 43rd Session of the UNESCO General Conference, taking place from October 30 to November 13, 2025, in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. The Cambodian delegation, along with representatives from other Member States, will participate in this important meeting to discuss progress and key initiatives in the cultural and educational sectors.
