នៅក្នុងខែសីហា នេះ អាជ្ញាធរជាតិអប្សរា បានបញ្ចប់ការងារជួសជុលការពង្រឹងខឿនជណ្ដើរ និងបង្កាន់ដៃនាគ ផ្នែកខាងលិចនៃជណ្ដើរកណ្ដាល ខាងត្បូងប្រាសាទអង្គរវត្តហើយ បន្ទាប់ពីចាប់ផ្តើមជួសជុលពីខែ ឧសភា មក។ 

លោក សយ សុភារិន្ទ បានរំឭកថា ចំពោះទីតាំងនេះមុនពេលជួសជុល គឺខឿនជណ្ដើរនាគស្រុត ថ្មហែកញែកចេញពីគ្នា ធ្វើឱ្យនាគមានជំហមិននឹងជាដើម។ ដំណាក់កាលដំបូង ក្រុមការងារអាជ្ញាធរជាតិអប្សរា បានជួសជុលពង្រឹងខឿនឡើងវិញ បន្ទាប់មកបានជួសជុលនាគ ឱ្យមានជំហ និងលំនឹងដូចដើមវិញ។ 

តាមការបញ្ជាក់ពីលោក សយ សុភារិន្ទ ការងារខាងលើនេះបានចាប់ផ្តើមពីថ្ងៃទី១៥ ខែឧសភា និងបញ្ចប់ទាំងស្រុងនៅថ្ងៃទី១៥ ខែសីហា គឺប្រើពេល៣ខែ។ បុរាណវិទូរូបនេះរំពឹងថា ទីតាំងនេះនឹងមានភាពរឹងមាំ និងសម្រួលដល់ការទស្សនារបស់ភ្ញៀវទេសចរតទៅអនាគត ដោយមិនបារម្ភពីហានិភ័យនៃការដួលរលំចម្លាក់នាគបន្តទៀតទេ ព្រោះការជួសជុលអ្នកជំនាញបាន ប្រើបច្ចេកទេសត្រឹមត្រូវ បិទពង្រឹងដងខ្លួននាគ ក៏ដូចជាជើងទម្រឱ្យរឹងមាំដូចសភាពដើមវិញហើយ។ ក្រៅពីទីតាំងខាងលើនេះ អាជ្ញាធរជាតិអប្សរា កំពុងសិក្សានៅតាមចំណុចផ្សេងៗទៀតដើម្បីលើកគម្រោង ជួសជុលទៅអនាគត សំដៅធ្វើយ៉ាងណាអភិរក្ស ជួសជុលបុរាណវត្ថុនានាឱ្យល្អប្រសើរឡើងវិញ៕

In August 2024, the APSARA National Authority successfully completed the restoration of the southern central stairs and Naga balustrade on the ground floor of Angkor Wat, following a renovation that began in May.

Mr. Soy Sophearin, Head of the Angkor Wat restoration site, explained that prior to the repairs, the Naga balustrade had collapsed and was in a state of disrepair, making it unstable. The restoration process involved two main phases: first, reinforcing the platform, followed by restoring the Naga balustrade to its original position.

The project commenced on 15 May 2024, and concluded on 15 August 2024. Mr. Sophearin expressed optimism that the restored Naga balustrade will now be sturdy enough to accommodate visitors safely, alleviating concerns about potential collapse. The restoration team employed appropriate techniques to ensure the longevity of the structure.

In addition to this project, the APSARA National Authority is actively assessing other areas for future restoration efforts to enhance the preservation of archaeological sites.
