មន្ត្រីជំនាញអភិរក្សថ្មរបស់នាយកដ្ឋានអភិរក្សប្រាសាទ និងបុរាណវិទ្យា នៃអាជ្ញាធរជាតិអប្សរា ឱ្យដឹងថា រហូតមកដល់ត្រឹមថ្ងៃទី២៥ ខែកញ្ញា ឆ្នាំ២០២៣នេះ ក្រុមការងារបច្ចេកទេសជួសជុលខឿនបាកានរបស់ប្រាសាទអង្គរវត្ត គឺបានជួសជុលពង្រឹងការខូចខាតផ្នែកខ្លះនៃខឿនថ្មឱ្យបានដូចដើមឡើងវិញ ដូចជា បានរុញថ្មដែលញែកចេញពីគ្នាឱ្យចូលជាប់គ្នាវិញ ពង្រឹងគ្រឹះឱ្យរឹងមាំ ដោយប្រើលោហជាតិអ៊ីណុកទាម ដើម្បីទប់លំនឹងនៅតាមទីតាំងដែលថ្មងាយនឹងរបេះ។
មន្ត្រីអភិរក្ស និងជាក្រុមការងារបច្ចេកទេសជួសជុលខឿនបាកានរបស់ប្រាសាទអង្គរវត្ត លោក រ៉ូ សុវណ្ណដារដ្ឋ មានប្រសាសន៍ថា ច្រើនខែមកហើយ ក្រុមការងារបច្ចេកទេសកំពុងប្រឹងប្រែងជួសជុលខឿនបាកានរបស់ប្រាសាទអង្គរវត្ត នៅតាមកន្លែងដែលមានថ្មញែកចេញពីគ្នា ដោយក្រុមការងារបានប្រើលោហជាតិអ៊ីណុកទាមឱ្យជាប់គ្នាទៅតាមស្រទាប់ៗប្រហែល២០កន្លែង ដើម្បីជួយទប់លំនឹងកុំឱ្យរហែកតទៅទៀត។
មន្ត្រីដដែលពន្យល់ទៀតថា បច្ចេកទេសនៃការទាមដើម្បីទប់លំនឹងថ្មទៀតសោត គឺបែងចែកជា៤ថ្នាក់ទៅតាមស្រទាប់នីមួយៗ។ ចំណែកឯ កន្លែងសំខាន់ដែលមានថ្មបាយក្រៀមនៅពីក្រៅ គឺត្រូវបិទភ្ជាប់កុំឱ្យទឹកជ្រាបចូល ដូចជា នៅចំណុចជ្រុងអាគ្នេយ៍ជាដើម។

Restoration and Consolidation of the Southeast Platform of Angkor Wat’s Bakan Tower
According to the stone conservation officer of the Department of Conservation of Monuments and Preventive Archaeology of the APSARA National Authority, on 25 September 2023, the technical team repaired and consolidated some parts of the Bakan Tower platform. Restoring the stones to their original position is like pushing the separated stones back together, reinforcing the foundation with stainless steel to stabilize the stone situation.
Ro Sovandaroth, conservation officer at Angkor Wat’s Bakan Tower, said that for several months now, the technical team has been working to consolidate the platform of the Angkor Wat’s Bakan Tower using stainless steel to stick stones together in about 20 spots to help keep the balance from tearing.
The official explained that the technique of sticking to stabilize the stones is divided into four levels according to each layer. The main place where the outside laterite is sealed to prevent water from seeping in, such as at the southeast corner.
At the moment, the southeast platform of the Bakan Tower has been severely damaged, which is the movement of stones, and the age of the stones. Combined with the fact that rainwater flows in between the stones into the foundation, it causes the supporting structure of the Bakan floor to lose some of its retaining force.
The stone conservation officer of the Department of Conservation of Monuments and Preventive Archaeology said that so far, in the process of repairing and consolidating only the two corners of the southeast parts of the Bakan Tower platform.
