កោរជុក ជាពិធីកោរសក់ក្មេងស្រីប្រុស ដែលម្តាយឪពុករបស់ខ្លួនឱ្យទុកជាកំប៉ូតសក់នៅសល់តែត្រង់បង្ហើយក្បាល។ ជាទំនៀមទម្លាប់របស់ខ្មែរដែលមានវ័យចំណាស់មួយ ដែលនរវិទូបានយល់ថាប្រហែលមានកំណើតតាំងពីសម័យអង្គរមក។ ប៉ុន្តែបន្តិចម្តងៗទំនៀមនេះ ក៏លែងមានការនិយមដូចសម័យបុរាណ។ ពិធីកោរជុក មាននៅរស់ខ្លះៗ ហើយការប្រារព្ធពិធីនេះនៅមានស្ទើរតែពេញទម្រង់នៅតែតំបន់អង្គរ។ ជាឧទាហរណ៍ នាចុងខែមេសា ឆ្នាំ២០២៣ គ្រួសារមួយដែលរស់នៅក្នុងក្បែរជើងភ្នំបូក ភូមិតានី ឃុំរុនតាឯកនៃស្រុកបន្ទាយស្រី បានរៀបចំពិធីកោរជុកឱ្យកូនស្រីរបស់ខ្លួនមួយរូប អាយុពេញ១១ឆ្នាំ។
ពិធីនេះមានសភាពឱឡារិកហើយត្រូវចំណាយទ្រព្យធនច្រើន គេតែងរៀបចំចូលគ្នា ដោយមានក្មេងស្រីប្រុសច្រើននាក់ ដោយគ្រាន់តែមានលក្ខខណ្ឌប្រសិនបើធ្វើចូលគ្នាគឺចំនួនក្មេង ដែលកោរជុកត្រូវតែជាចំនួនសេស។ ពិធីកោរជុកនេះគេធ្វើឡើងមានរយៈពេល២ថ្ងៃនិងមួយយប់ ដោយមានកិច្ចសំខាន់ៗជាច្រើន។ បុរាណវិទូនិងជាប្រធាននាយកដ្ឋានស្រាវជ្រាវ បណ្ដុះបណ្ដាល ផ្សព្វផ្សាយនៃអាជ្ញាធរជាតិអប្សរា លោក អ៊ឹម សុខរិទ្ធី បានឱ្យដឹងថា ពិធីកោរជុក គឺជាពិធីឆ្លងវ័យ ពោលគឺជាពិធីដែលបញ្ជាក់ពីដំណាក់កាលសំខាន់ៗនៃជីវិតមនុស្សម្នាក់ៗ ដែលខ្មែរបុរាណធ្វើឡើងសម្រាប់ក្មេងស្រីប្រុស ឬជំទង់ពុំទាន់ពេញវ័យដើម្បីឈានចូលពេញវ័យ។ ជាពិធីដែលខ្មែរបុរាណរៀបចំឡើងបង្ហាញពីដំណើរជិវិតមនុស្ស ដែលបានវិវត្តន៍ពីដំណាក់កាលនីមួយៗនៃវដ្តរបស់មនុស្ស។ ជាកិច្ចបង្ហាញពីការឆ្លងវ័យ ដែលប្រពៃណីខ្មែរកំណត់បញ្ចូលកុលបុត្រកុលធីតារបស់ខ្លួនឱ្យក្លាយទៅជាសមាជិកគ្រួសារខ្លួន ដែលពេញវ័យទៅក្នុងសង្គម ស្របតាមច្បាប់ប្រពៃណីយ៉ាងពេញលេញ។ ពិធីកោរជក់នេះ ក៏ជាកិច្ចញែកភេទរបស់ក្មេងស្រី និងក្មេងប្រុសឱ្យដាច់ពីគ្នា ហើយបន្ទាប់មកក្មេងប្រុសនឹងចេញទៅរៀនសូត្រ ស្វែងរកចំណេះវិជ្ជា រីឯក្មេងស្រីនឹងចូលទៅរកចំណេះខាងសេដ្ឋកិច្ច របៀបគ្របគ្រងគ្រួសារជាដើម៕

The shaving ceremony is an old tradition that is still alive today.
Kaor Chouk is a ceremony for shaving the hair of a boy or girl, which leaves a top knot of hair. It is an old Khmer tradition that may have originated in the Angkorian period. But gradually this tradition is no longer as popular as it used to be. Some of the shaving ceremonies are still alive, and this celebration is still almost in full form in the Angkor area. For example, in late April 2023, a family living near the Bok Mountain, Tani Village, Run Ta Ek Commune, Banteay Srei District organized a shaving ceremony for their 11-year-old daughter.
The ceremony was solemn and cost a lot of money, it was usually organized together with many girls and boys, just a condition that the number of children shaved must be odd. The shaving ceremony lasts for two days and one night, with many important tasks. Archaeologist and Director of the Department of Research and Training and Communication, Mr. Im Sokrithy, said that the shaving ceremony is a ceremony that emphasizes the important stages of the life of each person that the ancient Khmer people do for girls, boys or adolescents are not yet mature enough to enter adulthood. It is a ceremony organized by the ancient Khmer people to show the process of human life that evolved from each stage of the human cycle. It is a sign of transcendence that the Khmer tradition defines its descendants to become adult family members in society. The shaving ceremony is also to separate the gender of girls and boys, and then the boys will go out to study for knowledge, while the girls will go into economic knowledge, how to run a family, and so on.
