Angkor Archeological Park

Phnom Bok

Explore the heart of the Khmer ancestral empire

Devoted to Shiva, Brahma and Vishnu, the temple was constructed on the early 10th century under Yashovarman I. The visit of the temple involves climbing up 630 steps of a steep mountain. The view from the top is magical and offers 360-degree views of Angkor Wat and the Kulen Mountains. Note that the three prominent hills of the area (Phnom Bakheng, Phom Krom – 16 km distant in the South – and Phnom Bok – 14 km distant in the West) were all crowned with temples in the same period.
