នៅរសៀលថ្ងៃទី១៥ ខែឧសភា ឆ្នាំ២០២៣នេះ ឯកឧត្តមបណ្ឌិត ហង់ ពៅ អគ្គនាយកអាជ្ញាធរជាតិអប្សរា បានដឹកនាំ គណៈប្រតិភូ អមដំណើរដោយ អគ្គនាយករង ព្រមទាំងលោក លោកស្រីជាថ្នាក់ដឹកនាំ តាមបណ្តានាយកដ្ឋានចំណុះអាជ្ញាធរជាតិអប្សរា ចូលរួម គោរពវិញ្ញាណក្ខន្ធ លោកសាស្រ្តាចារ្យ Darryl Leon Collins ដែលបានទទួលមរណភាព កាលពីថ្ងៃពុធ ខែពិសាខ ឆ្នាំថោះ បញ្ចស័ក ព.ស. ២៥៦៦ ត្រូវនិងថ្ងៃទី២៦ ខែមេសា ឆ្នាំ២០២៣ ក្នុងជន្មាយុ៧៦ឆ្នាំ ដោយរោគាពាធ នៅគេហដ្ឋានរបស់លោក ក្នុងភូមិស្ពានជ្រាវ សង្កាត់សៀមរាប ក្រុងសៀមរាប ខេត្តសៀមរាប ។
ឯកឧត្តមអគ្គនាយកអាជ្ញាធរជាតិអប្សរា ព្រមទាំង គណៈប្រតិភូទាំងអស់ បានសម្តែងនូវក្តីសោកស្តាយ ចំពោះការទទួលមរណៈភាពរបស់លោកសាស្រ្តាចារ្យ Darryl Leon Collins ។ អស់រយៈពេល៣០ ឆ្នាំមកនេះ លោកសាស្រ្តាចារ្យ Darryl Collins បានលះបង់ជំនាញ និងទេពកោសល្យដ៏ច្រើនសន្ធឹកសន្ធាប់ ក្នុងការស្រាវជ្រាវ ចងក្រងឯកសារ និងបង្ហាញពិភពលោកអំពីភាពស្រស់ស្អាតនៃវប្បធម៌ខ្មែរ។ ជាពិសេសតាមរយៈជំនាញវិជ្ជាជីវៈរបស់លោកក្នុងការធ្វើកាតាឡុក និងចងក្រងឯកសារនៃសារមន្ទីរជាតិកម្ពុជា។ លោកសាស្រ្តាចារ្យ Darryl Leon Collins ត្រូវបានគេកោតសរសើរជាខ្លាំង ចំពោះស្នាដៃសៀវភៅចំនួន២ក្បាលរបស់លោកគឺ the ground-breaking Building Cambodia: New Khmer Architecture (1953-1970) រួមជាមួយ Helen Grant Ross បោះពុម្ពក្នុងឆ្នាំ ២០០៦ និងCambodian Wooden Houses 1,000 years of Khmer heritage ជាមួយលោក Hok Sokol បោះពុម្ពនៅឆ្នាំ ២០២១។
ការលាចាករបស់សាស្រ្តាចារ្យ Darryl Leon Collins គឺជាការបាត់បង់នូវធនធានមនុស្សយ៉ាងសំខាន់ និងគួរឱ្យសោកស្តាយក្រៃលែង។ អាជ្ញាធរជាតិអប្សរានឹងចងចាំក្នុងក្រអៅបេះដូងនូវគំរូវីរភាព និងការលះបង់ដ៏ធំធេងរបស់លោកក្នុងវិស័យវប្បធម៌ និងបេតិកភណ្ឌជាតិ ដែលលោកបានបន្សល់ទុកដល់ប្រជាជាតិខ្មែ៕

On the afternoon of 15 May 2023, H.E. Dr. Hang Peou, Director General of APSARA National Authority, and Representative of H.E. Dr. Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts and President of the Board of APSARA National Authority, led the delegation to pay respects to the late Professor Darryl Leon Collins, who passed away on 26 April 2023, at the age of 76 due to illness at his home in Spean Chreav village, Sangkat Siem Reap, Siem Reap city, Siem Reap province.
The Director General of APSARA National Authority and all the delegates expressed their condolences on the death of Professor Darryl Leon Collins. For the past 30 years, Darryl Collins has devoted his considerable expertise and talents to researching, documenting, and highlighting to the world the beauty of Cambodian culture, especially via his professionalism in cataloging and documenting the collection of the National Museum of Cambodia. He was also widely admired for his work in two classics: the ground-breaking Building Cambodia: New Khmer Architecture (1953-1970), together with Helen Grant Ross published in 2006 and Cambodian Wooden Houses 1,000 years of Khmer Heritage, with Hok Sokol, published in 2021.
The APSARA National Authority will remember the great example of his heroism and dedication in the field of culture and national heritage that he left to the Cambodian people.
