H.E. Mr. Michael Chan, Minister of International Trade of Ontario, Canada, visits and learns about the management of Angkor by APSARA Authority. He is really happy to get warm welcome and presentation from H.E. Mr. Sok Sangvar, Deputy Director General and other senior officials at headquarter of APSARA.
1,800 trees are brought to plant on the dam of northern Baray by APSARA Authority. It is on the way to Neak Pean temple, which is a protective location for both cultural heritage and landscape of the entire region.
In order to preserve and maintain old trees in Angkor, APSARA Authority has treated many old trees, especially silk cotton tree. Meanwhile, an old silk cotton tree near the southern gate of Angkor Thom has been rescued by experts of APSARA recently.
Mobile network towers, which are disguised as trees, are placed near the most popular temples to allow the telecom companies expand mobile network coverage and speed of Internet within the region of Angkor.
