The 25th Anniversary of Angkor as a World Heritage Site was organized with thousands of participants in front of Angkor Wat in the evening of December 14th, 2017 presided over by H.E Ms. Men Sam An, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Assembly-Senate Relations and Inspection, High Representative of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN SEN, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
Between 1997 and 2017, it has been 20 years since the German Apsara Conservation Project (GACP) is presented at Angkor. In the 20th anniversary of the German-Apsara Conservation Project and its achievements, GACP in collaboration with APSARA Authority held a two-day scientific conference on "Conservation in the Angkor site" from December 15-16, 2017 at APSARA Authority Center.
Memorandum of Understanding to establish cooperation projects through: a permanent unit of experts in the field of restoration and conservation in Angkor site and other historic sites under the control of APSARA Authority and between APSARA and German Apsara Conservation Project called GACP was signed on December 14th 2017, in the 24th Plenary Session of ICC-Angkor.
On December 14th, 2017, Angkor has been listed as a World Heritage site for 25 years. Over the past 25 years, Angkor has been rescued from various accidents and its reputation has been flying to all over the world.
