Crown gibbons were taken to unleash in Angkor forest in 2013 and 2015 under the cooperation between APSARA Authority, Wildlife Alliance and Flight of the Gibbon Angkor. As at the moment they give birth to the third baby. It is very good because crown gibbon is a rare and endangered species in the world.
Mr. Todd Anthony, General Manager of Flight of the Gibbon Angkor, said that the newborn gibbon is white, but it is not yet known to be male or female. He claimed that we would probably know the gender when it is about one year old.
According to a report by the Center for Forest Land and Wildlife in 2016, the crown gibbon has been listed on the Red List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as the endangered species. Today there are about 10,000 crown gibbons in Cambodia.
