The first signing of memorandum of understanding between Apsara Authority and the National Institute of Anthropology and History of Mexico

The first International Meeting on Archaeological Site Museums was held in Mexico, which was organized by National Institute of Anthropology and History called INAH. INAH has a special mission in conservation, research and dissemination of prehistoric sites, archaeology, anthropology, history and heritage of Mexico. There are some countries, which joined in this meeting such as: Spain, Turkey, Peru, Brazil, Netherlands and Cambodia.

The delegation of Cambodia led by H.E Mr. Sok Sangva, Deputy Director General of Apsara Authority, who has received an invitation from the Ministry of Culture, Mexico to share experiences in the management of heritage, culture, archaeology and cultural tourism, which Apsara has been fulfilling in the conservation and development site in the framework of World Heritage.

Based on the experiences in conservation and development of the region of Angkor, Apsara was invited to share about the experience and achievements of the management of Angkor as World Heritage Site. H.E Mr. Sok Sangvar shared the experiences under the theme of "The tourism management at Angkor "and Mr. Ly Vanna made a presentation on "Angkor as a world heritage site and Open Air Museum."

After the meeting, H.E Mr. Sok Sangva has signed a Memorandum of Understanding between Apsara Authority and the National Institute of Anthropology and History of Mexico to strengthen the cooperation in heritage conservation, culture and tourism development.








On the morning of 5 October 2016, the 5th community team based in Banteay Srei district, led by H.E Mr. Mei Marady, adviser to Apsara and the 4th community team based in Siem Reap city, led by Mr.Lim Out, representative of H.E Mr. Khoy Kim Tur, advisor Apsara with other staffs went to examine the sites of requests for construction and repair of houses in Thnol Toteung, Ou Toteung, and Brodak village, Brodak commune, Banteay Srei district and then in Nokor Krav village, Kokchok commune, Siem Reap town.
